Go outside and fire up the grill… Take your paycheck and throw it on the fire… Sounds crazy right? Of course it does! So why would you continue to give a way hundreds if not thousands of dollars?

You have one of two options for boosting your credit score. The first option is to allow someone else to do the same thing that you could do yourself. Or you can become the master of your own destiny and repair your credit on your own. The first option could cost you thousands of dollars with very little results. Purchasing a credit repair kit will cost you approximately $30. The choice seems pretty obvious to me.

Before we go to battle we must prepare. You will need to prepare by arming yourself with a copy of the “Fair Credit Billing Act” most commonly referred to as FCBA. All you have to do to get a copy is do a Google search. Once you have located it print it and keep it near by. Your going to need it.

Once you have reviewed your copy of the FCBA it’s time to request a copy of your credit report. Most experts will recommend that you order your credit report online because it’s faster. I however recommend that you order your credit report the old fashion way, via U.S. mail. This will allow you to create the start of your paper trail which you will be grateful for later on in the process.

Once you have your report highlight all of the negative items. Gather any proof that you may have to support your claims. Now it’s time to write your letters of dispute and send them in to the credit bureaus.

The credit bureaus have 30 days to respond either way. If they fail to do so then they MUST by law remove your disputed claims. Refer back to the FCBA that you should have printed out earlier.

Although the above method is a basic outline I highly recommend that you get a credit repair kit before going on. This will save you time and help you avoid any unforeseen obstacles.
